I had LASIK. The procedure didn't last 5 minutes. Probably took more time to move the equipment in and out than the "surgery" itself. Not having to wear glasses anymore is great.

From what I can surmise from studies, most eye problems are cause during developmental stages, stabilize, then fall off around 50-60. Not enough studies regarding VR, but considering that VR doesn't have different levels of focus the way real sight does, there are people that hypothesize that the lack of using the eye's muscles that control focus MAY have long term negative effects, but you would have to play for a LOOOOOOONG time, and these hypotheses are based on observations on tribes that live in mostly "claustrophobic" living spaces being brought to more wide open spaces, which has its issues when forming a hypothesis regarding long term use and VR in the first place.
