Putting aside political and societal nonsense, I wouldn't mind a few drastic changes. P4G's summer is kind of a drag. There are very large stretches of the game where all you can do is flip through dialogue.

Then again, for me this is only part of the issue, so I dunno if this would be enough to make me get this game. A lot of P4's Social Links are boring as fuck and I don't particularly look forward to going through them again. Investigation Team's S.Links are mostly non-memorable. Tower's boring, Temperance is boring, both Suns are whatever... My favorite P4 S.Link is probably Moon. I've never dated her, but she's one of the few characters in this game with even slightly engaging writing.

Also, I don't particularly like the Investigation Team all that much. Yosuke's an idiot who thinks he's smarter than he is. Yukiko never says or does anything of any real substance. Chie, Rise, Kanji and Naoto live and die by their single gimmicks. Naoto in particular is a completely incompetent imbecile and it's aggravating how much the game wants me to think of her as smart. These characters are utterly vapid.

Adachi is a dumbass. He acts like he's making some sort of point, but nothing he says is actually relevant to the themes of the game, nor do they really have anything to do with his motives for killing those two chicks. Izanami might be the dumbest, most asinine final boss in Megaten history.

He killed two complete strangers for absolutely no reason, and he manipulated Namatame just for kicks. There was no way to pin anything on him because he had no real association with anyone from the start. The thing is, despite its success, Persona 4 was a quick cashgrab made using reused assets like most PS2 Atlus titles around then, it's obvious from interviews where they talk about the development, Hashino even went as far as saying they didn't write a timeline of when each event in the game took place on the calendar, despite the other games having a big document dedicated to what events happen when for P3 and P5, so they had some trouble because the daily life events were pulled straight out of their ass as they went along.

They never expected it to be such a success, that's why Persona 5 took so long to come out despite being so underwhelming, it couldn't be "just another Persona 4" even though it pretty much was in the end anyway.

It has the best gameplay in the series, but that's as far as I'll go. Shido was fun, but Akechi was probably the worst final Atlus ever made. The life sim aspects were also pretty bad, I really didn't like how most of the S-Links needed to tie into the PT on some level for the characters to realize you were one of them at the end.
