I mean even if it isn't we still have the original to play so I don't care either way

I hope bloober has the soul to remake the bloopers at the end of the game

Why did they remake 2 before 1? Is 2 a prequel like MGS Delta?

No, it wasn't. Zoomies were just excited to play silent hill because they are too dumb to work emulators and find the ISO's.

because 2 is the best in the series and is standalone, unlike 1 and 3 which are sequels

It will be okay, like most remakes these days. An okay game that everyone plays and most people forget about after a week or two.
Anonymous No.712674259 >>712674358
>>712673767
no, it's more than one ending that says that
and one of them in particular the ending a player is most commonly going to get
it's like how most commonly a player would not be able to save Cybil in SH1, and given she never referenced in SH3 we can presume Harry canonically might not have

It wasnโ€™t bad, but sh2 is much easier to 1:1 because the game isnโ€™t as aged fidelity wise as 1 is. Theyโ€™re gonna have to be more imaginative to get the atmosphere of 1 down correctly, so weโ€™ll see if they can actually do it or not.

because 2 is the most popular one like how 3 is the most popular MGS so they remade that one first. 1 leads into 3 so they're probably already locked in to remake both.

>>712672094
she would unironically kill this role thoughbeit

>>712673665
it's all based on your interpretation of James, the events of the game and the ending you got. i suspect a lot of it is cultural as well. the Leave ending is the most American of the available endings while In Water feels like typical Japanese downer stuff. and the Maria ending feels very European, a cautionary fairy tale.

>>712674260
it really depends if Ito and Yamaoka will be involved to babysit them like SH2 remake. if they aren't involved i have very low expectations.

>anyone let me talk more about this game I only played recently because it was a remake
sure thing
I know it's upsetting, after ten+ years of watching videos about SH2 on youtube and then finally "playing" it last year, but you need to understand it's gay and stupid
Anonymous No.712676108

because it's a standalone story and the most popular in the zeitgeist besides the first movie (which explains why it is the way it is).
it was a perfect opportunity of both probing the developers competence with a certain budget/time constraints and public approval, they had to make it or break it.
fortunately for us SH1 chads, this means SH2 was their trainings wheels so it didn't really mattered if they fucked it up, which they didn't, so now we got the better deal of not dealing with the growing pains of what did or did not work with 2, as those will get ironed out with a even better budget and time constraints, worthy of the better game.

>all those SH2 fags who'll be experiencing SH1 for the first time
I'm rock hard imagining they getting fucked in the sewers and the otherworld streets...

silenthillfags, is the cult aspect interesting and compelling for you?
Anonymous No.712677038
>>712676913
yes, there's no Silent Hill without the cult. but i think SH4 showed you can't do a game focused entirely on it, one reason that game wasn't well received was the boring protagonist and the fact that it was almost entirely focused on the cult.

Konami somehow knew a tragic wife killer (ie hot) would bring in the female audience, and now it's time to the real Silent Hill
Anonymous No.712678358 >>712679168 >>712680336
SH1 feels so weird and depends on feeling weird

The rock steady over the shoulder cam in SH2R as you constantly jog at an even pace into a short view distance fog just sucks away all the mood, but SH2 doesn't need atmosphere as much as SH1 does because it has a real story and legit characters.

the way the camera make you feel about the events/character is also important. with a fixed camera you're more like an observer to what's happening vs the generic third person "cinematic immersive" camera.

Well with all the bitching and moaning about the camera, I think they might do some segments with a camera similar to 1 because they seem to listen to criticism.
Thanks for beta testing

they tried that in Downpour and it was retarded and superfluous, but Downpour was also made by literal shovelware devs so who knows how it would work in a different situation with Ito there babysitting the dev team.

All they need to do is mixed controllable camera + fixed cam for moments of impact (like the alley). Shouldn't be too hard, might be disorienting on a first play but so is regular fixed cam anyway.

Somewhat. It doesn't need to be a part of every story and it shouldn't if it has nothing good to contribute.
