I'm waiting for Night Strikers, the Gradius collection, and Cotton.
As for 1cc, I got a shitclear on Darius Twin last night. Not much scoring potential in the game unfortunately.

I'm excited for RwY even if it's just more RnR in a Japanese Fantasy setting, but here's a few things I would like to see.
>Replays
>More characters with scoring potential or a general re-balance
>More cute outfits for characters you can unlock, something similar to the Irori Room from Esp Ra De would also be nice.

Honestly agreed on every point. Replays are long overdue—Cotton's always had weirdly jank scoring mechanics that you either have to intuit or scour through JP wikis to understand. Would love some more tuned characters too; Saya was fun but borderline useless outside of meme clears.

A fully unlockable lounge/customization space like the Irori Room would be a power move. Imagine decorating it with in-universe junk from all the witches' adventures.

Also yes, fuck Exa. Locking content away behind arcade cabinets that cost ten grand is actual clown behavior. The day we get full-featured console ports without them chopping off features for Exa is the day I rest easy.

Are the SNES Darius games any good?

More Aleste is always good. I'm still annoyed with the arcade only one.
Would also like to see a collection of the 16 bit games with a brand new 16bit game like they did with GG Aleste 3. Doesn't need to be an actual Genesis or PC Engine game like they did last time, but I wouldn't complain about that either.

Darius Twin is alright. Not much goes on. The game is pretty easy once you know the safe spots on some bosses.Other than that, game's boring.
I played a bit of Darius Force but I can't say whether or not the game is good since I have yet to 1cc it.

Another upcoming game is Earthion from Ancient (Yuzo Koshiro's studio) which is built within Genesis limitations. I think it's out in July.

That one is kind of the odd one out.
Anyway, I can safely say that Aleste is my favorite series of shooters. Which means I need to actually beat the ones I haven't, such as the original (run into the same problem as with 1942, where I panic when the weapons are running out). Haven't beaten Spriggan yet, either, very hard game.

I can't say I'm the most well-versed in shmups at all but Angel At Dusk feels like leaps and bounds beyond most I've played in terms of control, content level, enemy/boss variety, art direction, music, quality tutorials, everything.
