That's a good idea actually. I've seen a lot of people over the years who want to start a gacha because they're interested in a specific character, then find out that they can't get them right away and end up never playing. It benefits both waifu fags and min-maxers who are starting the game late, so in the end everyone wins. Wonder why gachas don't do that more, i can only remember FGO doing anything similar and even then it was very limited in terms of what servants are on the banner, you can't outright pick who to go for and it's paid rolls only, but at least you're guaranteed the SSR in 1 multi.

Which one should I get? My pick would be between the catalyst, the gauntlets or the pistols.
I'm missing a good catalyst, with my Encore using the craftable 3 star with basic damage bonus and Feeb using the only viable 4 star cat I have (Jinzhou Keeper). I've also felt like Zani with Hollow Mirage has been underwhelming in terms of damage, especially when compared to Carlotta who I got a few days ago, but I don't have a decent Eternal Radiance set on her. Lastly, I've been really enjoying Carlotta's gameplay and she's already my biggest damage dealer, however making her even stronger with a 5* weapon sounds nice. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

The sword and the gun are the best value for any account because in most cases they're the next best thing after a character's signature weapon. They provide crit rate which makes building characters much easier so getting either of those will be great. If you enjoy Carlotta, making her stronger with Static Myst is a no-brainer. The catalyst is just ok, but it will benefit Encore quite a bit, so it's up to you. It goes without saying that you should never roll on the standard character banner and use those rolls on the standard weapon banner instead. By progressing through the game you get a bunch of those rolls, so pick the one that you want more and see if you can get it. So you'll probably get another standard weapon pretty soon, just pick the one you need more at the moment. In the end i'd say get the gun from the box because it will both benefit Carlotta a lot and it's one of the best choices overall.

Thing is, I'd rather diversify my investments to have multiple viable DPS characters, both from the perspective of having options incase I get bored or want to rotate to something different to not get bored, and to have multiple viable teams in the tower. Looking at the weapon comparisons for all 3 weapons, the rectifier would give the biggest bonus at around +25% when going from the 3* weapon, meanwhile the gauntlets or pistols would only give around an extra 10% damage for Carlotta and Zani respectively. I kinda feel like getting the gauntlets maybe since Zani is my weakest character out of the three by far, however I feel like I should get a decent artifact set for her before I make any judgement. I'll probably hold off until then.
