Which is the better controller?

For what game

Dualsense is far superior, but its also the only good thing sony has made this gen

Overall.
I play Session, but I know for a fact /v/ doesn't play that shit so I wouldn't be able to get an opinion on it.

Xbox layout. Not the modern Microsoft-made ones. I've always been gentle with my controllers. My OG Xbox controller and Dualshock 2s still work flawlessly to this day, and they're all like 23 years old. My 360 controllers never had problems. The Xbone and XSX controllers? I've been through like five of each, and every one of them suffered from either stick drift or double d-pad inputs/dropped d-pad inputs. Fucking shambles in quality assurance.

this is why PS controllers will always be the worst thing in the universe. there's a reason every manufacturer that matters makes asymmetrical controllers. because they're a billion times better than the PS abomination. worst possible ergonomics, everything is fucked up
Anonymous No.712711776 [Report] >>712711890
I do not care about haptic feedback
I do not care about adaptive triggers
I do not care about touchpads
And I especially DO NOT CARE about gyro

The dpad of PS controllers is way more ergonomic than the one on Xbox controllers

Dual sense but only if you give a fuck about gyro (rarely used) and adaptive triggers (rarely used) or the touchpad (rarely used).
The rest feels the absolute fucking same.
Layout sperging is just peak cripple hands cope.

or alternatively DS2 but for most stuff analog face buttons are not needed

They're gimmicks. That wear off quickly and only do nothing but drain the controller even quicker.

FPS, on-rails shooters and VR games are literally unplayable without gyro

>for some reason left hand is uncomfortable in same stick position
explain nigger. how can symmetry be more uncomfortable than asymmetry?

Forget better controller.
You're just a better person if you prefer the sony pad.

dual sense, even on PC it's better. XboneX locked their rumble triggers to console while dual sense is as fully functional on PC as it is on PS5
Anonymous No.712712195 [Report]

Why not both? Both are pretty great.

Also the ps5 touchpad is kino for games that properly support it.

If I want to play something with gyro I use the steampad because trackball mode + gyro is most comfy or use kb+m outright. The amount of games you actually wanna play like this and support it is very small.

It's more about the trackpads, I also could use a ds or chingchong xbox ripoff but stick + gyro isn't as good as trackpads pretending to be a ball + gyro.
Anonymous No.712712816 [Report] >>712713156
Dualsense is definitely the more premium controller, but i prefer the way the series controller fits in my hand and like the dpad for fighting games

What's the point of the trackpad if you already have gyro
Anonymous No.712713096 [Report]

The bumpers on the xbox controllers are absolute crap i had to replace mine twice because they get stuck and the thin inner plastic that actually clicks the button on the board breaks off.
And the rubber material on the analogs melts away faster than even the 360 analogs.
Dunno about the ps5

You can be more precise with the trackpad which allows to run the gyro on a lower sensitivity than you would with a stick making your aiming more precise. You usually don't overshoot the head as much as with flicking the stick. So you get on target faster and can stay on it better. If you know how to use a trackball that is which takes a bit of getting used to.
Anonymous No.712713261 [Report]
>>712713156
>can't even swap the battery without an screwdriver and several minutes
>battery is secured in place and you have to waste few minutes unscrewing the thing
So it is a premium controller for pros.

Everytime these threads pop up it always seems like the people behind Sony controllers always majority of the time back it because of brand loyalty

Playstation players simply do not understand how important replaceable batteries are. Anytime this is brought up, they act like this is to do with cheapness and not long-term reliability.

"Oh wow my controller's battery is getting real shit"

>Xbox
>Slide back open as intended
>Remove shit battery
>Replace it with a new rechargeable Philips battery you got for $15 off Amazon that has 3-4 years of daily 8+ hour gaming sessions in it

>Playstation
>Dismantle controller
>Void warranty
>Replace shit battery with $20 proprietary battery
Anonymous No.712714093 [Report]
>>712713463
>voids warranty
It usually has none anymore if you have to swap the battery but if you aren't sure that you can dismantle it and put it back together it's a valid concern. If you can not really and you usually get a better battery so you maybe have to do it just once.
