This film is so fucking shit, it collects so much dust and fingerprints and it just catches the microfiber cloth so that it doesn't let me wipe the dust off either because it won't slide smoothly over it

Only take it off if you've got another protector ready to slap on immediately. That pre-installed film is basically tissue paper, but going bare is asking for scratches from dust, joy-con rails, or even the dock if you breathe on it wrong. Get a decent tempered glass protector, you'll thank yourself later.
