Depends on what type of remake it is. The MGS3 remake fits your point, its fucking useless, its literally the same exact game but with new graphics, there's no point to it at all.

But remakes that actually change things can be worthwhile. RE2 and RE2R are two pretty different games, if you've played one you haven't played the both of them, because they're their own experiences.

I understand it for certain old games that are good but have aged poorly with some of their mechanics or just have inherent jank that needs fixing, games like MGS are the absolute last type of games that need remakes/remasters, especially MGS3 which is still great even just graphically
