It's a circular problem where the shareholders can be influencing the issues or even be creating them, but if they don't course correct, it's only gonna get worse. And in a situation like Dragons Dogma 2 they can just say the game was shitty, not our fault.

If you're talking about what I think you are, I think it may have also come down to not having enough time. Itsuno strikes me as really ambitious with his game ideas and going as big in scope as possible. Maybe he needs someone to reign him in a little, but this wouldn't be the first time a company shoved something out the door before it was ready.
DD2 in particular has a lot of things that felt like they weren't properly realized, but would make for this really grand JRPG if they were. I also realized that I ultimately liked DD as a "fantasy combat simulator" and would be fine just fighting armies of monsters in a huge megadungeon, but I think Itsuno was earnestly trying to make a living fantasy world, which is why the game was so focused on those aspects instead of making a dungeon crawl.

With the number of moves, there were fewer but I think they were made stronger to compensate. Like in the first game you had several different versions of the shield bash, but in DD2 you have one shield bash that feels really good to use.
I do agree about the armor slots thing, though. It limits fashion options pretty heavily and I'm not sure their reasoning behind it. Characters are a bit subjective, but the latter half of the game felt rushed and I think they weren't given the proper climaxes they deserved. Nadinia is on the cover but has almost zero screentime and I think one sidequest, and I wanted to romance her so I don't think this was due to me missing anything, she just genuinely is not given much attention compared to Ulrika. Disa is played up as this powerful figure and looming antagonist, but I somehow managed to not interact with her even once during my run until the post-game.

Im going to cope and say that the sheer silence is actually them cooking something bigger like an expansion. They could add bits to the game piecemeal, like difficulties and armours and enemies etc, or they can package it in an expansion and say that its a huge overhaul where youre getting way more for your money, where its all stuff that wouldve been implemented in update. Like I guarantee they had plans to do a bunch of MTX stuff, but the backlash on launch(which was entirely unwarranted) made them recoil and do NOTHING and just scrap those plans, because said plans were going to be like DD1 DLC where the weapons and armour can be argued to be "pay to win", so instead they are just going to be added to the expansion to make it seem like you are getting heaps of content.

I would be sad to see DD die, even if I think DD1 is better I still liked DD2, I want to see the games evolve and aim for the idea of what people think DD is. The speculation and discussion around what DD COULD be is never outlandish stuff, thats the frustrating part.

Their silence on DD is just incredibly suspect, even Exoprimal had DLC, DD2 has not a single thing added to it, for a game about customizing characters that very suspicious, they either have so little interest they dont even want to try and rinse money out of it, or they are doing something with it and dont want to sully it by cramming low effort MTX into it on the way out.

A year or so out is pretty normal for an expansion. Most of the Souls games got theirs announced about a year after the base game release. If that anon is correct, I would say it would take longer because the game is also in need of major optimization patches and the like, on top of being unable to reuse assets due to being on a different engine from the first game.
Realistically, I'd say it's 50/50 whether we get an expansion. Capcom is perfectly capable of putting one out and fixing the game with patches and the like, but due to the mixed response it had on release they may choose to cut their losses and focus manpower on other projects.

Wilds by a significant margin. The worst part is I can't tell WHY it runs so bad. The game looks mediocre a good portion of the time, and there's nothing going ok that I can see that is that big of an upgrade from World. Not to mention the awful texture streaming and dithering. The DD2 tram also improved the performance of the game noticeably even though it was essentially cheating. DD2 only had performance issues in the big cities so they despawn NPCs it they're a certain distance away from you. You could get a significant FPS boost in the cities of you killed every NPC.

For one, difficulty scaling could have kept big monsters relevant for longer.
Gear should have been rewards from exploration more often.
