Why does this game that predates vulkan need to spend an hour processing vulkan shaders. Why is playing video games in 2025 so fucking shitty and unbearable.

The shader cache for that game is currently nearly 8 GB in size. Does anyone know if switching Proton versions/prefixes cause shader cache invalidation?
