For example my sister went to one of the coding bootcamps and got a decent job(that pays way better then mine) just because she was female, but since it wasn't FAANG she quit after a year. If you believe in planned obsolescence, it sometimes applies to game development in a way. Planned obsolescence is when you release a slightly better product every year even though you know you could release a way better one every other year, just so you can make more sales.

For gayming, they can achieve this by selling DLC, Chapters, or Episodes to flesh out the story, or sell you a remaster with QoL and other fixes that they didn't have time/budget to put in the original.

They don't care about games, they care about milking me of all my shekels.

I have a schizo conspiracy about Call of Duty devs not banning hackers at least back in the day. They probably employed people to hack 24/7, so people would get sick of all the blatant hacking and migrate to the next new CoD.

Also I got banned from MW2 for being in a hacked lobby that leveled my prestige all the way up, so I never bought another CoD game.

That's pretty much what happened with Titianfall 2. All the money was in Apex but the mecha autists wouldn't let go so they let the hacker run rampant until the the whole thing started making waves.
