I remember being a retarded 14 year old in 2008 thinking about how good it would be if Mirrors Edge was open world and you could explore wherever you wanted, and then the sequel did that years later and I saw how that idea actually sucked and took away from the game

I enjoyed catalyst but I don't get why they did a soft reboot of the univers. The aesthetic of the first game was great.

All they had to do was just pander to the small fanbase the game had and we would have had a 3rd or 4th one by now. Instead they bloated the budget of the sequel so there was no way in hell it was going to make its money back and reconned the story to lose most of the fans of the first game.
Such a waste of an IP.
