When you get to that little village that's building Black Mages underground, IMO. The game's story is pretty slow-paced and without much mystery or intrigue before that point.

As someone who actually didn't like this game much at first and it eventually became one of his favorites in the series - when you leave the Mist continent it picks up a lot.
I dunno if it was just the Superman 64 ass fog dampening my enjoymenr of it or if the writing actually gets better in that area but yeah that's when it really clicked for me with the Black Mage Village and the dwarf fortress and then Eiko's section shortly after that.

Never, I played 1-8 and enjoyed all of them (yes 2 included), but I quit out of 9 when it demanded you learn moogle language. FFS I donโ€™t mind a little silliness but it makes Bartz look stoic by comparison. Massive regression without any compensation. Oh boy spunky sun wukong character #576 how interesting.

A game is either good or it isn't.
There are many PS2/PS1 games that are still a lot of fun today.

I played God Hand for the first time last year and loved it, legitimately a fantastic game.

necron is the concept of death / inevitability or some shit like this, it's been kind of foreshadowed with all the themes of the game, specially vivi's plot.

Alos Hades was going to be the final boss but they switched it for some reason apparently, not that the ending wold have been better by that anyway.
