Nah. It's about right. I had a 3090 and PS5 Pro and have mentioned on here they traded blows in a lot of games. Some games ran better on the Pro while others ran better on the 3090.

People bring this point up that PCs are more expensive as if its an interesting or valid point in any way.

PCs are literally infinitely more flexible than a ps5 is. You can do whatever you want with your fucking pc, it's not just going to be a gaming machine and speaking of gaming you can emulate every previous generation on it for free, you can play every generation of pc games, for free and going back to old games doesn't mean going back to old performance, you get to play these older games at 100+ fps as opposed to the experience of a console. you can hook it up to a tv and couch game on it if thats your thing.

Many threads currently that feel like 3rd party shit starting. PS5 pro is allright, I use the playstations mostly during summer because they don't get as hot as my pc. Yeah my pc is better but the pro was not even 1/4 of the price of even as expensive as the gpu. It's a bit expensive for 700 bucks for what it is, but also not disappointing because many games let you 60fps quality mode even if they don't mention an update. But for most people base ps5 will do fine, especially if you aren't used to 4k 120 fps and can still stomach just having 30 or the low fidelity performance modes on 60.

When you're spending $1k plus on a PC, that's also a photoshop machine, office machine, rendering machine, streaming (if you do that) machine, anime pirating machine, anime viewing machine, and so much more.

I have no experience with 1440p on the pro since I use a 120 hz oled tv to game both on PC and ps5. But there are just a few games that have a dedicated 120 hz mode. Afaik nothing that goes over that. Only upside is that 60 fps console often seem a bit more bearable than 60 hz pc because of what feels like more consitent frametimes but even that is a on a game by game basis.

Another classic case of why consoles, the ps5 in particular, are hot garbage. Some dude with a PC from 2020 is having a better experience in battlefront 2 than any ps5 owner today. Even xbox isn't this bad, it offers a 4k60 mode and a 1080p 120 fps mode in battlefront 2, battlefield 1, 4, 5 etc. Even then, I can still barely tolerate it because the resolution is low. But it's way smoother than the ps5 versions. Once you go PC you realise how God awful consoles are with their endless compromises. Only reason i haven't sold them yet is because I'm too lazy.

FSR 4 is very close to DLSS. In some areas, I think it even exceeds DLSS. I got this from that HU video. They did an in depth look at both. The only thing that should impact a GPU purchase is the compatibility of both FSR and DLSS going forward when it comes to these technologies. Though I have seen AMD adding game support very fast over the past couple of months. I built my PC in 2017 and it still runs every game that doesn't absolutely require Ray tracing (because I have a GRX1080TI that I haven't been convinced to upgrade yet) flawlessly at high graphics settings, and I can use it to 3D model, do Taxes Write documents for work, video edit (which is the actual reason I built this computer in the first place) and view/ create pornography as well as emulate any console from 2 or 3 generations ago usually flawlessly, and run any PC games that aren't broken when not running explicitly on XP.

So no I don't feel destroyed by this post in the least bit because beyond that the only console exclusives on PS5 and Xbox (whatever they call their current console) are Wipeout Omega Collection, Rare Replay and maybe Bloodborn. Nintendo unfortunately has more exclusives I'd love to play but the fact that their prices not only never seem to decrease but mysterious seem to increase even on the second hand market make it so I have all but lost interest in Nintendo as well. I have a Switch and it's been years since I bought a new game for it. So you can also bet your ass that I'm just going to skip the Switch 2 because it seems to have the same problems as the switch but somehow worse.

just compare horizon, the detail difference is insane. In personal experience playing AAA games where FSR4 isn't supported, going from DLSS3 to DLSS4 was significant, it is widely accepted that FSR4 is equal to or slightly better than DLSS3. DLSS4 was not slightly better than DLSS3 it felt like a whole new GPU. Games like HZ shows off the difference better but you need to try rockstar and other more realistic high fidelity games to truly show the difference. It is night and day in terms of detail when you play IRL, YT doesn't do it justice.

I have a Mac Mini M4 and there are a couple of things to keep in mind:
1. You shouldn't get it to play the latest games. macOS game support just isn't there. You can user crossover to play Windows games, but it just doesn't run as well on a machine that can play games natively.
2. You should consider buying a Mac Mini to emulate older consoles up to the 6th generation and 7th generation can be a bit wonky, but I think that has to do with emulator optimization rather than the hardware of the Mac Mini M4.

Only consider buying a Mac Mini M4 if you're planning on emulating + you're planning on using a macOS machine as your main computer to post on here, watch movies etc. + you're doing some form of content creation like editing videos, pictures etc.

If you're doing all of the above, there is no better deal than the Mac Mini M4. It takes a shit on its competitors.

DLSS4 is vastly better than FSR4 in terms of detail and clarity. This difference is much more noticable IRL across every game, even ones whose art style makes the gap seem smaller like Rachet and Clank. Any cons from transformer is irrelevant imo when you can have this much detail and clarity. DLSS4 is still in beta, I am sure they will solve the very small amount of weaknesses such as the worse volumetrics over time.

Finished it a few months ago on my 4070 worked fine.
It would only drop frames in some open world parts if i had full ray-tracing on.

I own a launch 2080 and it outperforms every game on my PS5. Bought Stellar Blade last week, running at High/Max settings at 60 fps. Meanwhile, the PS5 version looks like a blurry mess and runs at a much lower resolution.
