Combat is good especially when it opens up, and the soundtrack is fire. It performs really well, and there are some great boss fights throughout. It's a very solid 7/10 game imo. What holds it back is it's dialogue, story and side quest design.

And you haven't played SB either. SB has 4 main defense options on top of many more unlockable moves, never mind offensive. You basic offensive is dial combo a like Bayonetta which you can mix and weave in each other, then you have 2 main active skills that costs energy, beta and burst skills. You also get a devil trigger like DMC which itself has its own moveset.
I'd argue that Wukong is roughly similar to SB in that it's a soulslite/spectacle action game but Lies of P is definitely more derivative of Bloodborne that reminds me more of games like Surge, Steel Rising and Thymesia.

Desert is shit, fishing is boring padding, the multiple selfie quests and the can collecting is really gooky, like I get gacha players love doing the same thing for years on end, I don't. Music is amazing, combat is really tight, hit boxes in particular are excellent, characters other than Lily and Eve are really meh, the overall story is cool, but it's rushed, Tachy gets 0 time for you to get attached to her, feel like 2-3 more main missions would help a lot.

7/10, mostly mediocre, but certain aspects elevate it. I'll get the sequel, day 1.

I never said they were hard, I said they were annoying and not fun to fight. Oh boy another part of the map with tons of tentacle and tunneler traps and ambushes. The theme for the second map really overstays its welcome and i never felt like that for the first one.

Nikke DLC adds 5 sidequests that are just quick shooter missions, they all drop currency that you trade for the cosmetics. also adds the hardest boss in the game to boss challenge mode
Nier DLC adds new collectables all over the open worlds that you trade for the Nier cosmetics
neither are story relevant and really if you don't care about the cosmetics you can skip, but it was well worth it to me since they are some of the best outfits. also i'm sure the Scarlet boss is fun, i haven't gotten there yet
