Well, the chances of a Switch being blocked by conventional use are almost zero, so it's not a problem that affects the average consumer.

The problem is that nintendo gets to define what "conventional use" is. You buy a piece of hardware that can do certain things, but you can only do those things within the window of the manufacturer's approval, otherwise your license to use the entire hardware is revoked.
