Why do some people get mad at optional thing sin games? like optional quests, optional clothing, optional character creation, optional cosmetics, optional actions. I remember seeing a thread where OP was getting angry about Starfield because in the character creation you could use they/them pronouns. And it confused me because you didn't need to select them they where just 1 of other options. It's kind of like people getting mad when a restaurant has meat free options, just don't order them and you are fine yet people will boycott restaurants simply because they added a new option without removing existing options. It seems like a dumb reason to get mad at a game, choice is there so you have a choice. Assuming you have free will it's a non-issue. The only reason I can think people get mad at optional choices they don't need to pay attention to or use is them being NPCs who are so lost in culture war brain rot that they are 1 youtube video essay away from shitting their pants anytime they see a character creation screen because any kind of creative freedom or individualism is woke or something.
