Can the old, forgotten Playstation 2 mascots make a comeback or is it far too late?

Each of these got fucked over by staff turnover, but it's still worth mentioning how fucking STUPID the tone shift from Jak to Jak II was.

Ratchet still gets games but they’re soulless Pixar shit. Sly has a better chance of coming back because his last game ended on a cliffhanger but I couldnt tell you if the audience is still there. Jak is in a similar boat and when ND tried to revive him they redesigned him and his world to fit their moviegame narrative. Truth is you dont want them to return, the devs of today are incapable of understanding why people loved them.

Both games are objectively awful. Jak 2 has no original ideas whatsoever, everything it does is inferior to whatever game it was copying. The hoverboard is slower and far more limited than Tony Hawk, the narrow streets and fragile vehicles make driving a hassle, especially compared to GTA, the shooting is an afterthought, and the Dark Eco transformation takes too long to build up, burns too quickly, and can't be turned off like DMC's devil trigger. You niggers love to assert this derivative piece of shit is good, but not a goddamn one of you ever has a reason.

Modern ND literally doesn't know how to do anything except the hyper realistic style. Decades of making games involving regular people with guns caused stagnation and a lack of much needed experimentation.

Insomniac is the opposite, they continued making R&C games while doing gritty shooters and would occasionally do unique things like Sunset Overdrive.
