It's a very fun game, bogged down by very bad design decisions and a lack of any story or meaningful characters

It's kind of in the same spot as DD1 in that it's flawed in very big, obvious ways but it's still an absolutely amazing game. It's also 2 games in one: The first half is a remake/reimagining of DD1 and the second half is the real DD2.

Yes it is, but the story was rushed and Crapcom seemingly has no intention of improving the game's content.

Good game that is sadly lacking a post game to use your OP shit and is too easy to overlevel in

It's about 80 to 90h of fun if you don't go out of your way to gigarush the mainstory which is honestly quite bad.

If you played Dragon's Dogma 1 and you were like damn, I'd like that again, but not the Dark Arisen improvements or anything, and a bit dumbed down, then you will have a wonderful time with DD2. Otherwise DDDA is still the best Dragon's Dogma game by a noticeable amount. These retards refused to make a grindable endgame in 2, it's genuinely baffling.

I can't go back to DD1 with how satisfying ground and wall attacks are in DD2 it adds a lot of variety, plus DD2's exploration is better and the shitty lootbox system of BBI is actual aids

>I don't want a beautifu fantasy world, I just want to mindlessly grind in dark repetitive hallways for 500 hours and rely on gacha mechanics to autistically optimize my gear even though there's no content for which I actually need this gear!
I will never understand DA simps. It's a cool bit of side-content but it's so utterly soulless compared to the rest of the game that I can't only imagine you have some kind of severe and tragic brain damage if that's the main draw of the game for you.

>good
combat
world exploration
graphics
>average
music, worse than DD and DDON but still cool
loot, most of it is found in stores
post-game, undercooked
quests, some good some bad
enemy variety, too samey even if the recolors do different stuff
>bad
difficulty, starts of just right but ends up being too easy after the first few hours
characters, barely anyone is memorable if at all
story, axed
dungeons, it's all caves, no final dungeon but an elevator
>anon's thoughts
got the potential to be the best game ever, but it's clearly a game that got rushed out of the door so once again DD fans end up with an incomplete game.

This would be rational if the other parts of the game were on point but the story is literally a retread of the first games poorly implemented story, so you're not playing for that. The characters are all one dimensional cutouts and DD1 still managed to have more iconic characters, so you're not into that. The exploration is fun until you grow out of a child's mindset and the veil is lifted and you realize it's a lot of nothing out there in both games. The singular thing everyone can agree on is Dragon's Dogma has great ARPG gameplay. Therefore I find it to be extremely easy to understand why I would want the DD that emphasizes gameplay over the aspects it does objectively poorly. I'm a bit stunned I have to even explain this obvious fact.

it's very, very cool in concept. Like actual kino shit. Thing is, after being there for a while you realize there's barely anything new there, and no Ur-Dragon boss to force you to grind and find new gear but rather a quest about going to a few places with a sort of "time limit" (it's actually a limit on the number of times you can rest, but you can use some heal-all items to work around it).
I had fun in the post-game, but it could have been done way better. Plus one of the new bosses looks very out of place and kinda resemples Xenojiva from MHW lmao.
