>>712834960 (OP) I think it crosses over a lot of themes rather than just focusing on a single theme like UNDERTALE did. >Fate >Agency >Authorship >Identity These are the 4 themes I think DELTARUNE is focused on.
>>712836346 Everyone's talking about it? The whole reason it was introduced was to lead into the main plot of the game: the resurrection of Dess (a conspiracy between Carol, Asgore and Kris)
>Weird Route >You finally reach the dark fountain of Castle Town to accomplish what Gaster told you >Susie is standing in front of you >This song starts playing https://youtu.be/PJTIQYxmZIg How would you react?
>>712836780 You mean the dino girl that isn't a part of the prophecy and is in for a reality check in the future? You mean she tells you that?

>>712836929 Yes, did I ever claim so? I'm not saying DELTARUNE is UNDERTALE, I'm saying Toby as an author is not known to flat out state the themes from the get-go.
>>712834960 (OP) Escapism and fate. It's very obvious in Chapters 3 and 4.

>>712834960 (OP) >So what is DELTARUNE about? Purpose and belonging seems to be the over-arching themes. The purpose/belonging within society, within family, in school, in church, the purpose in the context of the prophecy, the way characters like Spamton and Tenna have lost their purpose, heck even Berdley goes through his little arc of losing purpose as "the smartest one", it's the one thing that seems to tie the various plots together.
