Demons was the only good souls game. They missed the point of the game and just kept making shit after it. It was near perfect, if it didn't have unavoidable damage sections that are just health sinks to waste heals, then it would have been a 10/10

Considering how extremely similar overall Dark Souls is to it even in design philosophy this is such a shit take.
They just happened to have a really good team working at it at the time for both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, something they split up more by Dark Souls II and Bloodborne.

the games are trial and error. it makes more sense to play them in order. DeS -> DaS -> BB -> DaS3 -> Sekiro -> ER

Dark Souls is better, but laterally so. Instead of improving upon the core concepts in Demon's Souls. They either cut them out, or added something new that wasn't part of the formula before.

I played Demons Souls on an emulator last year. I didnt finish it, but I was amazed at the game and the Dark Souls genre I have been missing all this time. Are the other games in the series as good as Demons Souls?
