I understand Sans' whole thing is that he felt useless and couldn't do anything to stop the evil player because they could just reset everything. But that means he would be fine with a neutral ending. I feel like Sans barely puts in any effort to lure you towards the true ending and I cite him as the reason that I even tried the genocide ending because of his frankly empty threat. Sans isn't the one that convinces most players to do a true pacifist route, it's Flowey. And in my mind I equate that kind of nihilism to someone who would sit back and watch Toriel get killed because "He's so depressed." That's not the kind of character I'd trust and he benefits from a happy ending despite essentially throwing his friends and family away to some kid despite several kids falling down here before.
Like I said. It's petty, and potentially a mischaracterization of his character but that's the impression I left Undertale with and no one in 10 years has been able to convince me otherwise.
So when I see Soriel shit I get a bit annoyed.
