Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 were the peak of Sega design philosophy

i didn't own any Sega stuff as a kid. never been a sonic fan, probably never will be. but i've really grown to like what these guys have become, especially since Atlus is under their banner. i want that new Shinobi game to do well so they actually continue to revisit their dormant IP

I grew up with Nintendo and PlayStation because Sega stopped making consoles before I was even born but after getting around to playing them I realize Sega is legitimately just better than anything else
There is so much depth and nuance to every game they made that nothing can compare, where are the modern games with as brilliant design and direction as Crazy Taxi, Gunstar Heros, Fantasy Zone????

I like Sega's games and they are putting out some of the better games these days with New Genesis being a horrifying exception.

home consoles (megadrive)
handhelds (gamegear)
proto-pc (mastersystem and that other segapc consoles or pc sega games)
pc kid (pico)
snobs try hards (32x) (nomad) and the list goes one
sibaritas (megacd)
new geneartion (saturn)

sega gets too much shit and harras by USA citizens but if you look back in perspective you have to admire SEGA for being in every market possible in the 1980s-1990s
