ratchet and clank rift apart rivet
md5: e37a21686b5278f91f28cf1db41c9d08🔍
I got this recently
I expected it to be underwhelming bad, like into the Nethers- I mean Nexus, not buggy, memberberry, girlboss, mocap, 3D Sonic terrain, millennial/MCU writing, dev twitter shit slinging, diversity chart, screen tearing, voice actor replacing, modern Sci-Fi, weightless movement, soulslike dodge roll crap
Why is it like this?

I remember the insomniac museum (from 2? 3?) showing off how they could use the PS2 to simulate a small square of water ripples
In this one I walked past a puddle, on the ground, and the water rippled
The devs of olde would have made magic with the technology of today
Heck my ancient, unmaintained, decaying PS2 doesn't overheat with R&C1 but my PC is nearly hitting Helldivers temperatures with Rift Apart

No it isn't? Both engines have completely different makeups given their needs (city open-world vs. mostly linear world exploration). The only thing they have in common is Nixxes' graphical menus on their PC ports of Insomniac's games.

also rivet legitimately takes the same exact character arc as ratchet does in the first game, it just wasnt done as well given the shorter time on screen she has

Which first game are we talking about?
The one where Ratchet doesn't give two hoots about the big bad until his planet is in the crosshairs, and before then would prefer to go on holiday or make fun of his victims?
Look! Plumber's crack!

I'm a normal person. I'm perfectly fine. I do not harm others. I do not desire to harm others. Any crimes I may or may not be guilty of involve only myself. I transgress only against myself.

But if these creatures existed in real life. If Rivet or any female lombax existed in real fucking life. Every second, every minute, ever hour of every day would be dedicated solely and purely to devising and perfecting a plot to abduct and house these creatures for the sole intent of raping and breeding them until I die of exhaustion. I would not stop. I would be more successful as a person, even. Any job, anything that may wound my pride, or tire me, or stress me out- these petty things would be cast aside. I would suffer any labor just so that I might acquire the wealth and status and goods that would deliver me closer to achieving that singular goal. I would go so far as to physically modify myself. A strict diet and exercise routine. Anything that would strengthen and reinforce my cock and its ability to rape these lombaxes.

You don't understand. It would be all consuming. You don't get it. Imagine god existed and he gave you a list, a duty. Imagine he gave you just one directive. Difficult, but completely accomplishable. Imagine god told you that to get to heaven, to taste the sweetest fruits of salvation all you had to do was one thing. Would you not do everything in your power to accomplish it? Would it not give your life such a purpose? An arrow loosed from a bow? Bullet fired from a gun? A singular direction, the thrumming battery of the heart beating for this one goal.

My heaven- my salvation lies in the abduction and interminable rape of Rivet. Thank goodness she does not exist, then, for the monster that I would become. For the truth that I would make manifest.

She starts by helping someone, giving them her disguise.
Ratchet would have to hit his boyscout Future self to even consider doing that.

Not a LARP, unfortunately. The harsh reality is that those games didn't make any money, and that the market for VR is still pathetically small and niche.

There's a reason we only make marvel games right now, the future for AAA is very bleak and long standing IP prints money. Spiderman 2 was profitable within like two months iirc.

Recently (two or so weeks ago) replayed Deadlocked and UYA back to back and still liked UYA better. It flows better, weapons are more useful (there are exactly two weapons worth using in Deadlocked), mods system just adds busywork and not much else. I even liked Annihilation Station hosts better.
Landstalker ballbusting is such cancer, this game would be a magnitude better without them.

PSVR2 was dead in the water as soon as they announced it wouldn't be backwards compatible. It's what caused me (and I'm sure many other people) who were on the fence to opt for a cheap PSVR1. The PSVR2 also has next to no interesting or unique titles and exclusives like the PSVR1 did.

I'm still baffled it had no PSVR1 BC. There was nothing that couldn't be done on the software side of things for it, despite the change in tracking method (inside-out vs. outside-in) and controls (just allow OS-level remapping for games that map buttons to an analog stick awkwardly, given PS Moves had five face buttons)

I hate how nefarious spamming has soured me on him, I liked him in UYA but every time he came back it was worse and worse. Doesn't help that upstages Drek in the remake, not that Drek in the remake was remarkable either. Doesn't help either that the writing in general went downhill. I don't quite get the complaints of Ratchet being a dick in the first game, it fit him perfectly and he does grow over the course of the game.

On another note, Annihilation Nation (hot take) is the worst of the arenas. GC had great arenas and I can do the Tower of Power for hours in DL.

>Into the Nexus had mostly all original weapons
>the Future saga refuses most weapons, only a couple new ones in CiT and might not even be worth it
I love the Future saga (despite its change in tone and gameplay) but that was a letdown when I played thru CiT the first time. All the decent weapons pretty much came from ToD. The weapon growth/arsenal change from. R&C to UYA was immensely better, and they had less to work with.
