Far Cry 2 is a better Heart of Darkness adaptation then Spec Ops The Line because it's able to get it's themes and messages across without emotionally manipulative over the top spectacles or beating the player over the head about how bad of a person they are for wanting to play the game they bought

It's also just a better game in general

Far Cry 2 is a dogshit that
1. kills your "friends" just because of a plot twist, move on to a new map, chud
2. force you to die for black refugees

It's pretentions as fuck, it's stupid as fuck, as something made by r**ditor after watching some movie about Africa.
There is one really good thing in this brown slop - that mission where you fight with the dead for diamonds, but it doesn't match with the other themes of this game

This game is straight up amazing with that latest realism redux mod. No more respawning outposts, NPC factions fight eachother, removed the shitty blue filter and lots of tweaks. Sure it still gets kinda repetitive after several hours but it's still great to boot up if you want some intense firefights
