>literally just roms packaged within an emulator >doesn't even upscale the resolution past like double of the OG's native resolution, jaggies everywhere >audio is completely fucked and sounds like dogshit, audio tracks are fighting each other for audio balance and shit cuts out constantly >removed the soulful save screens from Gex 2 >doesn't include N64 exclusive levels >doesn't include PAL VA >doesn't even increase the FPS, still 30FPS
>This is like that time Frank Sinatra farted on me at Jay Leno's pool party
Gex was ahead of his time. He was making Family Guy jokes years before Family Guy did

Actually, I did. Still do, on some level. I was hoping the analog controls, which is literally the only reason I kinda wanted to buy this, would improve the game. Unfortunately the completely FUCKED audio forced me to refund it. I would have dealt with the mediocre resolution, but the sound just made it unplayable. If they at least fix that, I might consider repurchasing.
so apparently this is not really a remaster but instead... a port?
smells like trouble when not even the publisher wants to cash in using the word remaster on the title

It's not a port. It's three .bin files disguised as .car files packaged within an emulator and a front end. You can even change the filename of the files back to .bin and they will literally work in Duckstation. Trust me, I literally tried this.
Not sure how they got full 360 analog control to work. I imagine it has something to do with how they programmed the emulator. Wish there was a way to do that on Duckstation.

Publisher owns the IP, they can do whatever the hell they want. Who the fuck is going to sue them? The people ripping the isos from the original PS1 discs?
And no, they didn't make an emulator for these three games. Other re-releases have happened using this emulator, I just can't remember the details off hand.

Dunno what that is. I'll wait patiently. From what I've heard in these threads so far, the game has fucked audio anyways and I'd rather wait for a patch if that ever happens.

I was kind of interested until I heard it was just emu, emu releases are universally shitty, no exceptions, it's always a shit emu with shit settings. Might grab isos and play them again in a good emu tho.
I'm severely disappointed by the release if only because it promised full analog control. Which, it did, but all the other problems makes it not worth it.
