Clair Obscur is going to get more gaming devs laid off. Everyone keeps praising its small dev team. This is a problem.

big studios like RGG and Ubisoft and those and square enix still outsource to chinks and pajeets and they have 500 members on the team.
what is your point? You can outsource asset making and cutscene production but that wont change that your game dev team is 33 people

The size of the dev team isn't their problem, it's the 40 bucks but they can't really say that without completely shitting themselves that's why they make it about the team size

>in reality outsourced a lot of work to koreans
People need to stop it with the "it was only made with 30 people!" narrative.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great game, but 8 koreans made gameplay animations and the quality of those enemy attack animations are a huge part of why people like the game, even if most normalfags don't think about that stuff. Because the enemy attacks are so well telegraphed and feel good to parry. If they were poorly telegraphed the entire game would feel awful to play.
Imagine if they had made the game without that Korean animation team and the animations were all shit.
There are over 400 people in the credits. Sure not all of them actively developed the game, but Sandfall is still only a bit over 30 people.
All the QA and animations stuff is a huge part of why the game is so good.

Kojima made Death Stranding with a core team size of 50 people in less than 3 years.

E33 developers made their game with a core team size of 40 people (don't forget the Korean animation team) in 6 years.

Of course that is Kojima's ideal. He literally did it himself. Kojima is actually above and beyond Sandfall.

It's very odd people keep praising the small dev team, when E33 is very much NOT built at all like an AAA game. The game is very obviously built on UE, aggressive blur to hide its flaws, janky animations, and most importantly: is SHORT. Less game to play means less time the deba developed. Hell, most of it probably went to the facial capture, which is the only "quality" part of the game's animations. Even if people keep praising the small devs, it is very much built like its on a budget. People are just more surprised that a shorter, "seemingly high budgeted" game can succeed. That's all.
It's also very ironic that praise is coming from fucking Kojima of all people, considering he's on the record for trying to put in as much stupid, useless shit as possible in his games, and would also rather blow most of the budget on voice actors. I don't know why that post was taken seriously whatsoever; it just shows his damning lack of self awareness.

Kojima is the Kubrick of videogames. Kubrick famously only worked with the same small team of people.
>Cruise invited him to the set of EWS and PTA said (I forget where I read this) to Kubrick "Do you always work with such a small crew?" And Kubrick responded something like "How many people do you need?" and PTA felt like a "Hollywood asshole" for asking that.

It obviously needs more forced slow walk and talk segments to fill out playtime. I mean there are stretches of the game where you just walk around and do nothing but combat and exploration for like a two hours. Not a single walk and talk segment there to break up the pacing? Not even a QTE to squeeze past a tight space? Gamers don't want that.

I don't recall saying it was a bad thing, but seeing how many people wrongly interpret the circumstances surrounding it will only lead to bad trends in the industry when it should be establishing a trend of that Sonic image of shorter games with "worse graphics" and all that. But you have retards like Kojima who doesn't understand how game development works, apparently.

Hello Simon, my name is Samara, I'm 14 years old (I would be if I was still alive), I died at 13 on Eversleeping Town. I was decoding a cipher and couldn't dodge a Clerk hit. The worst part is that Mercenary didn't help me and laughed while I was agonizing and after 2 hours on the ground I died. Through this message I ask you for a chance to rest in peace, send this to 20 guilds and my rank will be protected by you and the 20 others that receive it. If you don't spread this message, i'll visit you tonight and you're going to feel what it is to be me. July 15 Mariana laughed while reading this message and she dropped to tier II all of a sudden, and so happened to Karen on October 18. Don't break this chain, otherwise you're going to feel my presence.

At no point do they ever realize they need to make a product that appeals to the customer base or makes a profit.
