I was really into Zelda so I bought an ocarina and a book and I learned how to play because I wanted to be like Link. My friends brother was really into counter strike so he took a gun to school and killed some of his classmates and teachers. What are some things that you tried in real life because of your favorite vidya?

It's never too late if you still want to play, and ocarina can be pretty cheap. Check out NIGHT by Noble, it's a plastic ocarina with a good sound and very affordable. Great for beginners.

Or if you're a chad you can just make one out of clay or carved from wood yourself. Ocarinas were invented to be simple easily made peasant instruments and the material it's made of doesn't make much difference.

Donkey Kong is probably the most positive portrayal of black people I've ever seen in video games. He's strong, heroic, caring, but not afraid to get violent when someone tries to disturb the peace on Kongo Bongo. I myself am black, and I've always looked up to Donkey Kong because he's a better role model to me than anyone else in my life has ever been. Kids would make fun of me at school when I ate bananas, or rolled like Donkey Kong, or threw barrels, or wore a red tie, but it didn't matter because Donkey Kong was all I had in my life. Without him, I'd be dead or a drug addicted thug like my brothers.

every ocarina i've seen has looked wildy different from any other i've seen. different sizes, shapes, hole placements, numbers of holes, everything. is there just no standardization for the insteument? if somebody learned to play an ocarina, then tried playing a different ocarina, would they have to relearn how to play that specific ocarina?

An ocarina is just a vessel with a whistle mouthpiece and some fingerholes that change the pitch the whistle makes. The shape and even the material its made of make little to no difference. They'd just have to relearn the fingerings.

I got into ocarinas back in the year of broth so a lot has changed.

I for one miss the solist brand, I have a top notch plastic double ocarina from them and I think they are the only ones that ever made stuff like that, (they were sued by focalink for using their clay designs as a base, so they discontinued the products).

Do you know of a good quality double/triple plastic ocarina?

they really don't sound great, but I'm also a lazy shit and never learned to play it very well.

I think they're more for looks and they didn't really take care to craft the whistle part as much as they should have.

When I'm alone I often imitate weapons animations and sounds from doom/duke/blood with a tv remote/book, like, aiming, reloading, pooch-pooching, sometimes I also imitate robo-like walks or movements of NPC from some ass old games. Like, I strain my whole body and walk the apartment/pursue the cat as if I'm some morrowind dude. That kind of stuff.
