I have the launch switch 1 with the shitty battery life and for me that's enough. When the battery is dying I just dock it and do something else or play docked. Literally a nothing burger problem.

Nintendo using an 8nm chip in a $450 console was fucked up. They could've used Samsung's 5nm node which would still be very cheap since it isn't cutting edge anymore. You'd probably get 50% better battery life just from that.
Switch 2 margins must be insane, Samsung 8nm was dirt cheap in 2020 let alone today.

You don't have to trust anyone. If a console draws 20W and has an 80Wh battery then it'll last around 4 hours.
You can drain the Ally X in less than 3h in Turbo mode but it can also last you 12h playing some indieshit or emulating (on Loonix).
