It take some elements from bayonetta and mgr. It took the dial a combo aspect and witch time of bayonetta and merged with with mgr's one weapon design and heavy parry focus nature while also giving eve 8 full skills to choose from as well as a devil trigger form from DMC that has its own unique moveset. Gameplay wise is it is nothing like nier either. However the enemy and boss design has a mix of souls and mgr. Hell, the flashing enemy attacks were definitely from mgr.

Just got past the second boss. The "platforming" in this game is fucking ass. Like it's actually so bad coming Jedi Survivor where your movement and aerial mobility is fluid. If they make a Stellar Blade 2 they need to at least have Sekiro levels of movement.

Because for the past decade Fromsoft dominated the action game genre and almost every game, even GoW, borrowed core combat or adjacent designs from them. Over time, people just saw these combat elements as being fromsoft copycats hence soulslikes.
However that should tell you more on how many people have forgotten what games were before 2011.
Hell this game doesn't even have corpse runs like dark souls. It does have enemy resets but the idea of checkpoints have long existed in action games, and just like in those games checkpoints are where you upgrade your skills and gear. This game doesn't even have levels nor an inventory. The check point by itself also isn't a level up mechanic in souls, instead upgrading your character in this game is similar to dmc and bayo where you have to find items in the world that once collected as a set will increase your max hp and mp.

I think PS5 exclusivity deals with third-party developers is dead. Square Enix is vocally moving towards multiplatform releases for their biggest titles. Team Ninja is releasing Nioh 3 on PC day one. The upcoming Chink DMC, Lost Souls Aside, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and part of the China Hero Project, is releasing in just 2 months and it's coming to PC day one. There's just too much potential in the PC/China market to lock games exclusively to consoles.

Going forward, only first-party Playstation studios are going to be releasing their games exclusively on console day one and that's cause they can afford to. Most Playstation Studio games are targeting the West and specifically the US market, where consoles are still fairly dominant. The issue with MGR was that just like stellar blade, you and boss were just rushing each other in a single direction so you could just flick light stick forward and basically parry every single attack. And the game teaches you this the first time you fight bladewolf. Had more issues with the zandatsu precision hits with some bosses but then again those were just glorified qte mini games.

there's not really any postgame content, the Nikke DLC adds a superboss and there's a boss challenge mode. there's 3 endings so running NG+ and NG++ is the real endgame, hard mode, new skills, and outfits are added in NG+, then even more outfits are added in NG++
my estimate is around 60 hours to 100%, i haven't done it yet but at the rate i'm going that's probably around how long it will take me to finish the remainder, but i used a guide for missing collectables when i got to NG+, if you're going to manually find everything then it will take way longer because a lot of the shit is hard to find

Dear SHIFT UP, please, kindly pay your attention as many gamers are reporting the game crashing due to various issues, among which are:
1) Fatal UE4 error
2) BSoD
3) Memory leak
All those above cause save file corruption and eventual deletion of it.
I personally invested about 20 hours of gameplay time to come to conclusion that the game caused a BSoD, resulting in the save file corruption and erase.
The above problems occur on various hardware (both Nvidia and Radeon) including high-end PCs.
Troubleshooting that involves updating/reinstalling all possible drivers leads to no avail.
Therefore, I would like to ask you to direct your immediate attention to those mind-boggling issues.
