I wish them luck in their medieval game, it might suit this format more but judging by how teleporty foxhole got I doubt it.

Foxhole needs an entire perspective shift to be fun. I've played good twin stick shooters like the original Helldivers, but foxhole is unbelievably clunky and has awful user experience. When you get shot your guy just kinda slows down and then falls over, there's no real urgency to the UI design telling you what your health status is, there's no player character grunts or screams so the battlefield soundscape is just a bunch of gunshots and bomb sounds that exhaust the ears from repetitiveness (tho you can get decent sound mods for the game)

It's like they made a tech demo and said "well we finished the work time to add ambitious naval warfare and logistics features" when the core of the game, frontline combat, has remained relatively the same tech demo unpolished vibe since the beginning despite the aiming overhaul and medic system etc

I experienced some of the greatest moments in my vidya history playing Foxhole. It had great atmosphere, and it's probably a lot better by now. I'll always cherish some of the earlier wars like War 19-20 and when they introduced tech voting. It was just amazing.
