Shiny Colors is not that popular actually, characters are popular but nobody likes the stupidly melodramatic plot of the main game, and direction-less gameplay of the second game.
It's even more obsolete now that Gakumasu released a well-written + good gameplay + good character new generation imas game, and I'm saying this eventhough I'm not a Gakumasu fag.
Pretty sure anime isn't profitable but they are doing it for the sake of marketing, that's why they make high-budget anime once in a decade, and fill the in-betweens with low-budget fillers.
