Deck was marketed by Steam DRM heavily. There is no other reason. The marketing they did was outrageous and the Ally handhelds are not that far behind in sales even with that market push. The new xbox variant means the Ally will most likely ending up far past deck.
All you need to do is own a Deck or Switch 2 to see how weak they are and ask "where can I get actual performance".

>>712898958 (OP) >no trackpads >no steamos out of the box >bigger >more expensive >potentially worse battery life If I was buying a handheld to play AAA games on low settings for 40 minutes a pop, then yeah, I'd consider getting the Ally, but that's not really my use case, so I'm not interested.
>>712901293 OP is saying Rog ally x. It's smaller, lighter, and has 1.5x the battery life of the steam Deck OLED. SteamOS isn't an issue since it takes a few minutes to install, same as the time you spend tinkering on the deck anyways.
Correct on trackpads though. I hope the Rog ally X2 has at least one trackpad for easier windows navigation.
trackpads idk why people don't get this. I guess they only play casual slop on their pc or are consoletards.

>>712900161 Tpbp, honestly this is the main factor. I'm not a brand fanatic, this is just a PC after all, but the OS is just fantastic and without touchpads the device is useless to me. They double as just about any key /macro /menu I could ever want

So why not just buy a laptop? It'd be far more versatile than just a portable gaming device.
