It bothers me that this game series became popular, I liked when it was more niche because it made me seem better then other people when I would play these underground gems and no one else did. But now everyone fucking likes these games and it's made me lose all interest in the series despite supporting them since the PS2 says

I only ever played 1 and 2 with the english dubs and I have no interested in the sequels
even the dubs they slapped on to the newer ones are trash in comparison

I never see anyone talk about this game series unless it's in my friend group. I even get to still play through infinite wealth completely blind, and it's great.
I'd also argue that there are less people interested in it now compared to when it was the "meme-flavor-series-of-the-year" a couple years ago.
The only time I recommended Yakuza 0 to someone, they were filtered by the fact that there was no dub. Since then, I never recommended this series again.
The turn-based aspect of the new games is also a filter.
