are you going for the achievements? keep in mind everything carries over so you can do as much or as little as you want. side quests are reset and you need to find the camps again but all of your skills, data bank, costumes, etc are all carried over
personally i'm going for the 100% and did most of it all in NG. i did most of the side quests, a bit more than half of the cans, but eventually i decided to finish it and wrap the rest up in NG+
keep in mind that there are 3 endings, i'll keep this spoiler free for you
bad ending - don't take the hand
normal ending - DON'T fill Lily's bar up to 100% and do the bonus area + take the hand

the Lily bar pops up in the corner of your screen with a % after doing sidequests and picking up documents and shit like that. it's not that hard to fill, i did mine naturally just by doing most of the content. now in my NG+ and NG++ runs i don't need to fill her bar since i already got that ending and everything in that area in NG

I think the biggest problem with this game is that it's not punishing enough. I am a good way into the Grand Desert and am still TERRIBLE at parrying basically anything, bosses or regular enemies, but when you can just rotate between beta skills, burst skills and tachy it really doesn't matter. Nothing has forced me to learn the systems yet. The only bosses I've died to are the first one, where I didn't have most of those tools yet, and Tachy, where as soon as the fight began I immediately walked off the platform. It never forces me to learn how to play well.

Juggernaut was a motherfucker and came down to the wire, but he still went down first try. Gigas was a while ago but I think I burned through all my consumable health items fighting him. Behamoth I just did a few hours ago, he was no problem. Stalkers are motherfuckers, yes, I take damage every single time one appears but no matter how many there are it's just a case of doing the wide slash beta skill or the judgement cut burst one and mopping up whatever is left.

On the other hand, I think there's nothing wrong with this. I've played plenty of action games and Ninja Gaiden was really the only game I'd consider hard from the on set. Most games let you cruise by on the first playthrough and that is when you get to only harder difficulties. I guess it all comes down to player preparedness. I can still sometimes die to those turret drones because I either dont have enough beta energy or get stunlocked by their ranged attacks. Sometimes you get unfortunate and aggro some nearby enemies and they gang up on you.

I just got done. While the story didn't really deviate from what I expected once it started coming together I feel like a fucking retard only realizing last night adam and eve went over my head almost the whole game and knew he'd have some way more major part to play, what it was I did not expect until orcal. And the way everything is talked about is so confusingly as to what when were why that it makes you think. Combat overall pretty good if a little jank in spots. Would be nice if ammo could be banked and just restored like consumables. Also the fast sprint shouldn't go away just for getting enemy aggro. And collectibles were pretty smooth, found a few more than half the cans on my own with a couple i just ignored, rest of the stuff is pretty easy to come across naturally as well.

I've been running the camo exosuit so as long as I get one or two backstabs between ambushes energy is never an issue. Also when I say I'm terrible at parrying, I mean I'm usually just blocking everything, not facetanking it.
