Burn decks have always been a popular way for people to play the game. They fit the same niche in oldschool metagames that Stun does in the modern one. It's a deck for people who don't want to interact with the game in the standard way and want to just flip some cards and hope for an effortless win.
If you run into some guy flipping Skull Invitation in the event it's far more likely to be someone who constantly grumbles about how unfair it is that their opponent can summon multiple high level monsters on turn one rather than someone who has been playing Snake Eye for a year and a half.

It was fun. I didn't have the money to play Glad Beasts when it was first released (And getting cards back then was a huge pain in the ass) but I enjoyed getting to play the archetype whenever I could borrow the deck from another guy at the card shop. They're a fun archetype, and toolboxing between all the different Glads means you have a way to play around most scenarios as long as you can get an attack off. I hope they end up implementing some kind of permanent Time Travel mode, it seems like a natural continuation of these events and would make it worth actually investing UR dust to craft older/banned cards.

I will give this format another shot.

For some bizarre reason, people treat the OCG stories differently than any other YGO story when it's the same in canon structure.
In every major YGO series, there is a separate manga and anime story, sometimes 3 if you count certain archetypes like HERO.
For example, in the original YGO DM the most commonly known difference is Pegasus surviving in the anime versus dying in the manga and even spawning a spinoff about people trying to revive him.
In GX the villain wasn't Yubel, it was Tragoedia.
In 5Ds the Meklords and the like never even showed up in the manga, and the Signer Dragons had standin "Duel Dragon" versions like Stardust Spark Dragon.
In Zexal Yuma did things like befriend a living doll that lives in his house and the villain wielded the Spider OTK monsters (e.g. Seven Sins).
Arc-V...um... everyone knows Arc-V's big main difference. The story finale was about some sort of god dragon instead though.
Generally the same applies to the stories of the monster world manga and anime, it's separate canons that don't interact or reflect 100% of either story.

It's more of a rogue deck but the new support really does help it as a strategy. The new Link lets you search Engage, which is a lot better than the current clunky way you'd "search" the card via Hayate->Attack->Kagari->Return Engage from GY to hand. It also means you save Kagari's effect for later. Lemnis gate is nice too, especially for longer games where you can go through a ton of Sky Striker cards.

I made a small experiment during the last 34 days. Basically I simple disabled the names of the players and however some shit thing happened that looked weird or improbable I marked the name. Those are the results:


192 duels. 44 of those duels had weird shit. I was able to identify the chinese player in 39 of those duels or 88.64%. To put this in perspective my winrate (from diamond to master III) until now is 53.01%.

Note that this is weird shit either winning or losing. Without names being displayed. Note also that I played other chinese players that didn't ping in the radar.

So, either my racism got a upgrade or chinese cheat like crazy. I want to ask someone to try to replicate the result, if possible.

Those were the rules that I followed (although some games I used gut feeling). Some examples, like the going second hand, is something that should happen normally once in a while. Weirdly enough the example I mentioned is very specific and only happened with chineses. I recommend you to try this just as a experiment. While doing this can be seen as coincidence, the fact that it is always chinks is weird.

Yes, but the advantage is far greater for the turn 2 player than for the turn 1 player, as per the last WCS.
So it's really a going second card more than a going first, and moves the game closer to fair.
And in most cases, if you were going second, a Maxx "C" on top of a negate board was most likely not winnable anyway, so that's why it's more advantageous for the turn 2 player.

If you really want them to be decent at this too then the only thing I can come up with is some bullshit handtrap allowing you to special summon instantly on a very easy condition(e.g. the opponent has summoned something and you control nothing)

Meta has been terrible for almost two years at this points, and right now it might be in its worst state because almost every single popular deck is comboshit, with Fiendsmith making said combos even longer. It's the same meta. It didn't get notably worse. It just started stale and remained that way. Snake Eye got nerfs and immediately got new cards to fill in those gaps and has stuck around. At first, I thought that both Miracle Raven and Readying would be 3-of in a lot of Ritual decks, but that would run the risk of bricking. Maybe 3 Raven + 3 Preparation and 1 Readying would be better, that way you at least have the option of using the latter to search the Ritual monster you want.

My actual first thought after reading them was: How would this benefit Nephthys, but that deck has issues way more pressing than searching power or Ritual materials.

They've toned down censorship on all of those in recent years.
They still don't want to just call them guns and call them muskets or whatever, but they're not plugging every barrel with a gem and turning muzzle-fire green anymore. They're not afraid to touch on Christian concepts like sin like they used to, and they're fine with putting Ankhs on cards. I guess they changed Regenesis names? But they change names all the time for no discernible reason.

Vampire decks never really used Zombie Vampire, because they can't get into it easily enough on their own, and don't mix well with other engines.
It's a card that clearly was not seriously designed for them from a realistic point of view, and was just meant to be generic which is why it's generic. Nobody has ever tribute summoned Voivode to then overlay it with an opponent's monster for Zombie Vamp.

Zombie decks like it, sure but they only ever summon it with stuff like Horus and PUNK cards, and use it exactly the same way Tear did. They don't actually care that it says "Zombie" on the card. It's still just a generic for them.
Also people haven't actually touched zombie piles in ages. Don't be fooled by the past zombie players swearing they'll pick it back up when Branded Fusion releases to play Branded Zombies, or how they'll totally pick it back up when Goblin Bikers release, because Goblin Zombie is so good.
