I would forgive SWTOR on the basis that it's a dumb MMO where three quarters of the budget probably went to those three trailers everybody loved
But Mass Effect and Dragon Age are BioWare's mainstays, their relevance and success is tied directly to how these titles perform and they can't be bothered to deliver even a halfway decent product despite throwing hundreds of millions away between Andromeda and Veilguard.
They deserve to go under if that's the effort they output.

Are we talking about Andromeda or Dawnguard? Former had a far better game-play experience than any other ME game, but its still fucking ME that's like trying to jump start a motorized hotwheels car. No one thought ME was an example of good gameplay; decent and serviceable but not the sole draw.

Stay the hell away from this game if you have any investment in the story of the previous games and lore of the Dragon Age series. Veilguard absolutely wrecks all of it. You're also likely going to come out of the experience not liking or outright hating all of the companions. The story and characters are that bad. If this is your first exposure to anything Dragon Age then the gameplay can be serviceable (as long as you stick to the lower difficulties where everything isn't a damage sponge) as generic action RPG slop but it's nothing great.

Boring, bloated game. The gameplay is simple, but serviceable and even quite fun for a while. But even at its best the writing is extremely bland, especially for a party-based RPG and the game is way too damned long given the dearth of actual roleplaying. You keep getting sent to the same locations over and over to kill more and more dudes via poorly motivated missions. But it is polished. So it ends up being a really, big overstuffed beat em up without either the mechanical complexity or the character or narrative hooks to keep the whole thing interesting for long.

Pirated it and it was very boring.

Story isn't very interesting and for the few choices you have there's even less consequence.
Characters aren't very interesting and behave like children.
DA had a certain edgyness to it and they sanded all that down.
Gameplay was mind-numbingly boring.
Your companions are just there to offer you a few extra spells, they can't die, their normal attack damage is very low and enemies tend to prioritize you.

I mean this with all seriousness: even Andromeda was better.

The one thing I was impressed by was the hair physics/shader. That's the one and only thing they should copy over to the next Mass Effect game.

The gameplay is fine for the first 20hrs then it becomes really boring an repetitive. Everything that's not directly tied to the elephant in the room is either mediocre or mid. It's not worth playing, it's not worth sitting through, not now. I finished it because I started playing on release to see how bad it truly was but without that context, you're wasting your time and you will regret it, there are better games to play.

I pirated it and just stopped playing 2/3rds in because it just stayed awful all the way to that point.
Combat is a waste of time but the writing is even worse than the previous Bioware disasters.

It really isn’t, and that my problem. The characters are all super nice and safe and never push back or have even the illusion of any autonomy or agenda. And the way you interact with them more or less doesn’t matter. Overall plot wise the writing is better, but not much, and nothing they came up with is particularly interesting. Even if the party was six Morrigans in jewelry and body paint the writing wouldn’t be able to sustain the game.

Yeah, the scenery and visuals were very good. The overall Blight scenery is the best the blight has been depicted in the series I think. (not the darkspawn enemies though).

They sadly fucked the characters with those messed up proportions with the big heads but the scenery is absolutely top tier. About the only thing objectively good about the game.
