Because ETS2 (the only truck sim in existence) is a shit game. In a flight sim you at least have the challenge of learning to pilot the thing. While ETS2 is a wasd simulator with extra steps and shit graphics.

Buying a big rig and getting a CDL license is tremendously easy compared to buying a plane and getting a pilot's liscense.

I play solely combat flight sims, usually the WW2 ones. The civ stuff like x plane and msfs just doesn't appeal to me in the slightest
At least you get missions (and sometimes a dynamic campaign) that gives you variety and something to do: fighter sweeps, ground attack, dive/level bombing, etc
Going from waypoint to waypoint *can* be boring, depending on the length/type of mission, but it's fun finally running into enemy fighters or bombers and getting some kills, or making it back to base from a ground attack mission with your plane barely holding together

that is a xbox sim. there are no modern hardware supplier, when you want to play a mechsim with proper hardware you have to cobble together that shit, whichs sucks ass because most mech games dont recognize the displays or button panels.

because flying IRL costs literally like $30K+ per year at minimum, and takes a lot of training and is super dangerous and cool

while driving an 18 wheeler is a job any genuine retard can get in like 6 months. still sort of neat but not nearly at the level of flying a plane.

To fly an airplane you need very long and expensive training and most people will not be able to fly one commercially so they won't make money off it while every flighthour costs a lot as well(and to actually own a plane oh boy). I'm not even talking something like a fighter plane because there's just a lot of people who can't physically do it.
To drive a truck you need a license(moderate expense) and there's fuckton of people willing to hire you on the spot to drive their truck around.

I don't mind people doing it(and I can see how truckers life may not be for you), but you were asking for a reason.
