I don't drink as much as I used to. I got really sick one time and it turned me off from alcohol for a few years. Sometimes my dad buys flavored beer and I'll have one or two.

Alcohol is expensive as fuck these days, and its inebriation effects are ten times more annoying than weed, and now that weed is legal, there’s no reason not to use it. Smoke weed, feel good for two hours, go back to normal. Have a few drinks, you’re going to be fucked for way longer, way more tired, way more visually impaired to others, and that shit makes you fat and destroys your liver and has serious addictive properties.
I still like a drink now and then but it is abjectly inferior to weed. Women are also way more fucking annoying on alcohol than weed (but they’re always a bit annoying regardless) but good luck getting them to tone their drinking back.

I hate alcohol. I hate that I had to watch my mom destroy her relationships and her life ten years ago. I hate that today I have to wake up to drunken schizobabble from my best friend every time he has a slightly bad day. I hate how hard it is to actually help alcohlics, and I hate having to find the right balance of gentle and firmhandedness to actually get through to them. I hate that somehow this stupid bottled poison has taken so much from me and people I care about. But my mom got through it, and I'll get my friend through it too

There's actually a standardised amount of alcohol that counts as 1 drink, which is 0.6 Fluid OZ. That's not the amount of liquid, just the actual ethanol portion of the liquid, and it ends up equating to one pint of avarage strength beer.
