well, unlike all kind of mutations that roam the wastelands, deathclaws are BOW, so they're pretty much engineered to give the most death with the least possible caloric burn.

Since radiation is magic in Fallout I'm going to assume it eats either one of the massive creatures that's roaming around (ants, scorpions, etc.) or it gets nutrients from the FEV/radiation around it so it never really needs to hunt for anything other than protecting it's territory.

Radiation heals them so it should probably offset any damage done by starvation or something like that. They do like places with high radiation and seek them out iirc, even if they're mostly braindead.
