Yea in single player games I'll open cheat engine to play with shit in roguelikes or games I've finished, speedhack jrpgs when I don't feel like walking big maps etc

If you define cheating as something like gameshark/gamegenie codes to do some fuckery outside of the boundaries the game puts out, yes. Nothing's ever beating the feeling of playing Pokemon Platinum to cheat out the (unreleased) azure flute to get to Arceus.
You hear the combination of the Azure Flute playing out with the music that plays when you go upstairs to meet GOD itself and Arceus' own encounter theme is not what one would expect from a final boss type of encounter.
If the games have cool stuff to find that you would normally never see in a normal playthrough, shit can be fun, like using weapons you wouldn't get in prior stages.

I'm too much of a pussy to play games like this. Even though I routinely play "hardcore" M-rated horror games and watch tons of horror movies, there's something about these zoomer-pandering kiddie mascot horror games that freaks me out way more than anything else.

That's something I don't get, why devs will leave all these tools and superweapons in their games on release and then get offended when people try to access and play with them. It makes no sense.
