as much as I like Zelink, it would - canonically make sense for Link and Zelda to actually not be a couple. Eternally bound together through the triforce, their destinies always intertwined - which is also true for Ganondorf.
It's a never ending cycle but not one of love. Some Links and Zeldas will be couples, some will never meet (because there's no need to) but Link should never be a prince by birth (and thus Zeldas brother)
