Now that watching movies on 1.5 speed has become commonplace and even normalized, when will developers allow us to speed up their games with similar features?
Only for zoomoid retards like you.
No that's retarded and you didn't watch it.
>>712961121 (OP)I'm wondering when rewind will be a common feature. You only see it in racing games and emulation.

>>712962332you already barely retain information when it's at normal speed
>>712962213Why would you watch something so low quality you don't actually want to watch it?
This is a genuine question. I just can't imagine putting on something I don't want to watch or listen to then setting the speed faster to get it done with. I'd just find something else to watch or listen too.
>>712962213>youtube videos or actual slop shows that are basically on in the background while I'm doing something elseWhy not put on some background music if you're not gonna listen anyway?
>>712962613If I'm watching something like the news, I will put it on at 2x. Where I want to get the info out of it and want them to spit it out as quickly as possible. I do the same with most documentaries.
>>712962721>Why not put on some background music if you're not gonna listen anyway?I do that too, it's just sometimes I'll see a video or documentary that I'm sort of interested in and that goes on in the background at 2x. Same with a podcast.
>>712962613Because what would I gain from watching a 30 minutes video about why they changed the eye color of a pokemon in the full 30 minutes when i can just do it in 15? I'm not losing anything, and I'm not bored either
>>712963126what would you gain from watching it at all
I started watching movies and tv at 1.5x speed back in 2020 in covid lockdowns and now I watch them at 4x speed. My attention span is just getting worse every year.

>>712963126>I'm not boredThis is the thing, your brain is so fried you canโt be interested unless you have a video going at double speed while youโre playing a game. Thatโs a problem you should be very concerned about.
>>712961329It could happen only if the hardware was so powerful you couldn't get any substantial simulation/graphic gains so devs would virtualize the engine for having this kind of control in their games.

You think you know but in reality you are just even more prone to misinformation and manipulation. You hear but don't listen, your brain is literal noise with the attention span of a rock.

>>712966156No, I'm insulting you because you insulted me. You're too dumb to watch videos at 2x to the point where you can't even fathom someone else doing it, lmao.
i've never sped up a video, but turbo in Trails really spoiled me. i never thought of seeking an external turbo button til i started Yakuza this year, about halfway through Kiwami 2 i found out Trainer's had game speed options so i played the entire rest of the series with game speed increase, toggling it off during combat or minigames only
i probably saved 2 months of my life and made it through every RGG game in under 3 months. then i did the same thing for Octopath 2. i won't do it for every game but certain games benefit from it so much. i'll be more likely to re-play Persona in the near future now

1. It hasn't been normalized. It's a symptom of the youtube algorithm pushing length over quality, so successful videos are all heavily padded. Nobody watches dunkey on 2x speed.
2. This is a marketing campaign to try and get people to consume twice as much content by consuming it twice as fast. It's going to work because repeating something over and over turns out to be the best form of marketing.
3. I was playing video games on 16x speed long before you got hired at your pathetic fucking viral marketing job.
4. I closed all my youtube tabs and bookmarks and uninstalled all my youtube apps because youtube is worthless.
5. More people are doing the same.

Why can't you talk about video games? That said, I started using fast-forward in every emulator that allows it this year. I've always abstained because of some perverted idea about purity in playing it that way it's intended, but all the gay Elden Ring memes forced me to realize how retarded that is. So many games benefit from the option to "Press key for x4 speed". Mario Party is much more enjoyable. Turn based RPGs no longer waste your time with animations you've already seen. Loading screens are skipped. Unskippable cutscenes defeated. Breeze through traveling sections.
To disregard these benefits as "brainrot", "consumerism", or "ADHD" is to be void of personal opinion, relying on parroting others just to have something to say.

>>712987560>who don't have a good educationHoly projection
>>712987560yeah see. this thread is a bunch of fucking esl thirdies without an inner monologue getting mad at something they can't understand.
>>712961774Nothin wrong with that
>>712966114The idea that it robs you of the full experience is timewaster cope. It's really not different
>>712961121 (OP)SEND THE FUCKING NUKES ALREADY
2x speed is a youtube thing, because influencers need to hit a certain video length for the algorithm even if their point could be made in 10 seconds total.
Normalfags don't watch stuff to enjoy it, they watch it to fit in and have something to talk about with other normalfags. So it makes sense that they want to get through the "chore" of watching something as quickly as possible.
>>712961434>>712961352I like how CHUDDIES would rather complain about zoomers instead of talking about games with speed up mechanics that actually change the game in meaningful ways
>>712961121 (OP)>now>tetris has been doing this for decades
>>712963290every turn based game needs a speed up because they are boring as fuck, sometimes require you to grind and most random encounters are just spamming A anyway
>>712979626Game speed is tied to the difficulty setting in the campaign and coop.
>>712986850lmao that's funny
other games have the option to outright Skip cutscenes but FF devs are like, "nyo....our amazing story about time jannies and xXxSefirothsArmpitsxXx he's so kewl..."
>>712961121 (OP)1.5 is good, but not ideal. An LLM that skips the filler parts would be perfect.
>>712975584Chinese language can squeeze a ton of information in way less words. I imagine Kanji can be generally faster speed read as long as you can recognize the symbol you only need like a few kanji for a whole sentence
>>712980578>listens to nightcore at 1.5x speed
>>712970131just...don't click on them? Is that really such a burden for you?
Don't forget to take your adderall tablets
>>712991251In Starcraft 2 for sure.
>>712961121 (OP)How the fuck are retards here mad that there are people who can watch at 1.5x or 2x speeds?
It's like getting mad at people who know how to juggle 3-5 balls just because they know how to do it and you cant.
Are you really that petty that you must pull down those that can do better than you?
>>712966190>It's weird how often I'll have something at 2x and have to check it's actually at 2x because the actors talk so slow and the scenes are still needlessly longi dont watch tv but i do this on youtube alot
>>712992000>comparing a learned skill that requires considerable manual dexterity to a passive quantity-over-quality consumption mindsetthis is your brain on 2x watch speed
>>712992117Just say you're a jealous low IQ retard and be done with it.
>>712992117>filtered by his own cognitive speed
>>712992219jealous of what, the fact that you "watch" slop you barely even pay attention to just so you can say you watched it?
>>712992301jealous that you can't comprehend how greater minds work so you forcefully tear down their image by misrepresenting the great feat they're capable of doing
>dude the benefits of watching 2x are totally there
>all you have to do is watch it a second time at 2x later
lol. lmao.
>>712992416>reads at 1x speed>still fails to understand what he just readbased retard, thank you for confirming our suspicions that you're actually a moron who can't think
>>712992416Having the information reinforced would be better for retention, that's the entire point of something like flash cards.
>>712992389I comprehend how your mind works just fine
>>712992681>I com-stopped reading right there. classic "no u" tactic used by low IQs who are incapable of complex thoughts.
>>712989630Reminds me of the one guy who was showing how he watched anime. Skipping intro, fast forwarding all non fight scenes and so on
>>712992976this is the capacity for rational argument your brain develops at 2x watch speed. Beware, zoomers, this could be you.
>>712981135All the corn syrup pressing down their brain + America becoming less and less white
