You don't keep kids pure by just banning everything kids like. Of course that's only going to build resentment. You have to model positive behaviors, and get your kids involved in productive things that distract them from garbage like social media. But specifically, get them in productive activities that they actually enjoy. I managed to mostly stay out of trouble throughout public school because my parents got me into playing the clarinet, which I loved. If they instead made me do something I didn't like, like pop warner, I probably would've gotten into trouble just to spite them
