I remember a Tom and Jerry skit where they actually got along but Toms owner kept pushing him to chase Jerry and the dog kept giving Jerry the tools to push Toms buttons. I wish I could remember the exact name but thats what it reminded me of.

There is an episode where olive oyl is deliberately setting up conflict between them because she likes them fighting over her, and they end the episode with them figuring it out and walking away from her as friends.
Popeye doesn't really have much of a canon but that was always a nice little one-off ending for the two of them.
