I like it. 10/10 from me.

I thought it was a very good DLC but I did not enjoy my time playing it.

Still in the middle of it. Just took the tram and got to Hotel Krat. I'm not sure what to do with the tea set. The description says its only purpose is to be sold, but I'm worried the game's just trying to jape me.
DLC difficulty has been some major asscheeks and it feels like it's made to kill you over and over until you get the perfect guard timing on everything. Still gonna keep playing on Legendary Stalker difficulty, but I swear I'm gonna get grey hairs like this.

I gave up on the NPC boss after Merkiona on NG++. After 20 tries of getting here down to like 90-80% of her HP I was done and switched to easy.

First playthrough here; I feel like I'm approaching the endgame and, while know a couple things from what my friend said like there being two(?) endings, I'm playing mostly blind. I just want to know what exactly decides the ending you get and which one is better for more content, regardless of story context?

Also, its safe to beat the final boss before doing the DLC, yes? I won't be forced into ng+ or miss a new ending the DLC might add?

Its implied he kills her with the Nameless Puppet (who is fucking dead Carlo) and steals Romeo to put in the King of Puppets to be used as the fall guy in the Puppet Frenzy scheme. BTW romeo is completely conscious for the entirety of the Game as the King only wanting to save Carlo but we are too far gone to understand him so we have to kill him

For the extra boss, make the correct decision at the end. It's very obvious which is the good choice if you paid any attention to the story, but if you really want to spoil yourself don't give up your heart
There's a chance you won't get to choose and lose out on the boss if you fucked up really badly throughout the entire game, but you really have to go out of your way to achieve that so I wouldn't worry about it. If you feel warmth you're good already
What decides between the 2 "extra boss" endings is your humanity level and what you do with Sophia but it's just a different ending cutscene, nothing gameplay related

How hard is it to parry in this game compared to say, Sekiro or Elden Ring?

I got the hang of parrying in Sekiro, but parrying normal enemies in Elden Ring was truly hard, and consistently parrying bosses fucking impossible.

Gepetto's nameless puppet is not some fucking killing machine. It is a specific tool used for reincarnating a human into a puppet. Gepetto shows up to turn Romeo into a puppet and obviously succeeds. The method is even laid out in the madman's note. As to why Lea is just killed/ignored that's just shitty korean plothole writing. He could have made her a puppet too, only there is no trace of her in the base game so we're just going to handwaive that away lol. They definitely could asspull that Gepetto had 2 nameless puppets and got them both, but I think they want a clean break from Gepetto for future titles. It's not outside the realm of reason though that a Lea puppet exists. It would be extremely gay though because it is not hinted at in the context of the story at all so it would be an asspull. But these are Koreans we are dealing with and they do love their K drama slop, which this already is. I quite understand the Namless Puppet isn't a killing machine and is Carlos dead body which Gep wants to put the P-Organ Ergo into to revive his "real" son instead of P because of the flesh of his dead son still being on that puppet. he still uses that nameless puppet (in some way still Carlo) to kill lea. We see it walking up to her from the crate, if it was romeo we wouldn't hear the footsteps gradually gaining on her and the unsheathing of its sword. Romeo didn't even have a weapon on him. We already know in the base game the Legendary Stalker is dead or missing, and the after credits clearly show shes dead, and this is how Geppetio put Romeo in the King of Puppets, starting the Frenzy. It specifically says in some lore dialogue that Romeo became the king to protect the people he loved, so perhaps he became puppetized to be a better stalker instead of immediately getting put in the costume? he was dying of the petrification disease iirc, and in DLC there's no blue on him.

You could argue the "Utter Chaos" isn't the frenzy, but that would be ridiculous. The utter chaos is heavily implied to be the Puppet Frenzy itself, which is when Krat fell. if it was the pet disease it wouldn't make any sense, the Pet disease while bad never got so bad until the Puppet Frenzy and the King of Puppets dying like we see at the end of the game. With the King dead the Puppets didn't have the unity to kill off the Pet disease which is why it gets so bad after you kill Romeo.

I've fought Arlecchino for about 4 and a half hours now. My current PB is 60% in phase 2. This phase 2 opener is strangely the easy part of phase 2. I can handle that no problem, even if I miss a few perfect guards. It's all the stuff that comes after that gets me. Right now I think my main problem is that I'm not consistent enough with phase 1. I still die to phase 1 sometimes, and a lot of the time I do survive it, I've used up most of my healing flasks already. In some ways, I have a harder time reading phase 1 than I do phase 2 because of the sheer speed and mixups he can do. I have a hard time processing exactly what combo he is doing sometimes. Phase 2 seems mostly readable for now. Is there any advice on getting more consistent with phase 1?

Ergo is the natural form of PD, Ergo is all People, baby. the PD we see in game is an entirely Alchemist meddling to evolve and get more people immortal, which instead of turning you into stone makes you a zombie. The reason so many people turn into carcasses is because of Elxir and Alchemist meddling; they poisoned the water supply for instance. If you don't have strong will or body you become a Carcas or mutant, if you have the shit you become a champion like Victor or the Complete, if you are an extra special you become a listener like sophia. The reason puppets gain sentience is because puppets are powered by the people rocks, people rocks react to the puppets and gain back sentience over time. With enough people rock in the right circumstance you can do some magic shit, see P slowly become Carlo. It helps if the Puppet is in a situation that reminds them of their old life, or if the puppet looks like the person the Ergo is suppose to be.

I'm excited for the "sequel" as it feels like it might connect P to a new world/characters. We also know that P is now immortal. At the end of the base game, we see that alchemist in the train speaking to an associate from some unknown organization, and they're clearly interested in immortals. I'm not sure if "ergo" is called something else in other worlds/realities like if Dorthy came from Oz, but maybe Oz doesn't exist in P's world/reality? You can do a lot of theory crafting and it's fun. They also mention the Arm of God, implying they know about it, but also claim that they have other pieces of this "God" because they mention "getting the arm back". There is clearly a stronger/larger organization than the Alchemists, and I also think the alchemist we see at the very end is also immortal as well. The Alchemists controlled Krat, or believed they were its true masters. They actually wanted to "evolve" so essentially godhood; to become higher beings. okay heres the low down, the best TLDR I can give

couple of centuries back a Eldritch Alien Beast would come to earth, known to us as the one winged angel. The OWA liked humans vibe and decided to give them a "gift". In a DLC note, we know the OWA had no idea of good or bad, moral or immoral, so it genuinely thought it was doing a good thing. It wanted to hive humans the gift of immortality, in the form of Ergo. People become rocks, and in some technical way live forever. Turns out, people don't like being rocks, so People of old tore the God to pieces to make Moon stones. Now, a group of people had the will and sheer aura to not become rocks from this gift but actual full on immortality. These people would found the alchemists, who worked on making PD not turn people to rock but make them actually immortal. These experiments would lead to the PD we know now, the zombies and mutations arent apart of Ergo its all alchemist shittery. The end goal is to make people immortal, but it keeps not working.
The only true immortality is through Puppets, but no one knows that.

It really is amazing how insane Geppetto is, especially with the knowledge of the DLC as well. Eh, Higher ups know Ergo is people juice, but I don't think anyone knew Ergo inside of Puppets could make new people until Camile's Maid Puppet. Alchemists as a whole thought the answer was Ergo itself, as in people. Thats why you don't see them stuffing Ergo inside their chairs, they're always fucking with the people. It was only Geppeto and others putting Ergo into Puppets, which eventually became Sentient which revealed the actual path. P is the ultimate success of the Krat experiment.

Not sure what you're getting at, Paracelsus is an Immortal, whose only goal is making more immortals. He's probably been in Krat and other places (Kansas) trying to make more Immortals. The Alchemist organisation in Krat was made by Paracelsus and his true immortal associates in order to do the whole Immortal experiment in Krat. I will always summon a spectre for the first Black Rabbit fight. Yes I've beat them solo. I will never not summon for it any time I play. It's annoying. The tracking and lunge on the downward swing is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in a soulslike. It's an annoying fight in an annoyingly small arena, with multiple enemies who are also very annoying. Fuck that fight, it's not fun.

You're going to want to put points into capacity as equipment gets progressively heavier. Advanced is good for most of the game as there are only three enemy types, and each one has an element weakness. Puppets are weak to shock, carcasses are weak to fire, and humans are weak to acid. You can go basically the entire game using just three weapons, and honestly it feels like you'll rarely use acid. Fire is the main element imo, like you'll spend over half the game fighting carcasses, and the final dungeon is like 90% carcasses and 10% human enemies. You might want to start leveling up the flamberge early and also the salamander dagger.

This is only if you choose to go for an advanced build and use advanced weapons. The shock legion arm is hot trash, so don't even bother with it. The electric baton will be fine on its own. You do get some two-handed element weapons later on in the game, if you prefer two handed/greatsword type weapons.

This was prevlanet in the base game as well and my god did it piss me off. There are certain enemies even in the base game with a MASSIVE delay attack, like you can see the wind up but you'll have to watch for a certain animation to actually tell when they're going to lunge or slam down. The range on some of those attacks is BS as well, like one enemy can hit you from across the way even if you run away from their wind up. They just like FLASH STEP towards you and it's retarded.

for me honestly, I am very done with this kind of boss design in souls games and souls likes. it has reached a point of unironically insisting upon itself.

it's like a video game industry wide arms race to see who can make the most spastic, anime bullshit happen with their bosses in the second phase so you have to waste extra time every time you want to learn a boss' moveset.

I just lowered the difficulty to be done with it.
Anything more extreme than Sekiro is overstepping the "fun zone" for me.

I'm happy that people enjoy that type of boss design, but I am also happy that the devs put in a difficulty selection for those of us who don't find too much fun in that process
