In the first one Zagreus can date his step brother... I didn't know this until after i purchased the game... lets just say I only flirted with Meg. I wouldn't have bought the game if I knew that and would've probably just kept playing it on gamepass until i was done with it. Good gameplay, alright meh story, good art sometimes, Athena should look wayyyy better imo, same for Aphrodite. Music's good. I feel like they should've just added a dlc to the first game, the sequel looks so boring.

Just finished the third Rival bosses. Thoughts in no particular order.

>Hestia's boons are finally good because Scorch doesn't take for fucking ever to do meaningful damage. Don't like that they took away her ranged attack-deflection sprint though, it's not even that broken because it's easy to miss proccing it running away from projectiles. At least she gives the cooler sprint animation by default but it's cold comfort mechanically.

Chaos was right. The fundamental problem with Meli is that she's a boring stick in the mud, which informs all her relationships. Like the fact that she's specifically able to befriend Narcissus because she's too dense to have the context for how insulting he is.

I actually like the Hel aspect for the skull. Not enough to actually play the skull though, they clearly realised they fucked up the weapon too hard the first time around and are making it more of a full-on gun. And that's too little, too late compared to eternal axe supremacy.

You dont progress hypnos yet (patch notes say it). The new extreme measures for the surface especially seemed strange-the poison on the cyclops is annoying given your low health pool, but Eris is easier imo with the lucifer rail and prometheus seemed less aggresive and fire spammy with herc joining in. I also found the final bosses on extreme measures a bit disappointing although Chronos has a cool phase 3 arena. The major difficulites are really just the first bosses

And that's really weird like you said. The only rival boss that comes close to the first ones is Scylla, and that's only because of the sheer volume of projectiles onscreen. Even Cerberus feels easier than he looks since by that point you're probably doing enough damage to carve through his phases.

Honestly the main reason I'm playing is because judging from Hades 1's development, Supergiant has a bad habit of overcorrecting the fun kind of broken shit while leaving in the cripplingly bad kind of nerfed shit. 1.0 only players will never know the joy of a 40-60% speed boost courtesy of Apollo, or the OP version of the Chaos Shield.

They've added so much new stuff since I played. I kinda want to start a new file rather than continue my old early access palythrough. But then I'd probably want to do the same for the release. I mostly bought it for the EA discount, since I'd get it on launch anyway (plus who knows what the regional pricing will be when it releases, might as well grab it now). I wasn't planning on actively playing the EA versions to begin with.

So far the only confirmed potential love interests are Nemesis and formerly Moros his revelation with this update is that the Fates ordained him to marry someone he THINKS is Eos, but is quite blatantly endgame Melinoe. So Meli in her typical dense way is trying to encourage him to go for "the other girl" while he is blatantly conflicted because of his own crush on Meli. None of the above went anywhere because everyone involved decided the war with Chronos is more important.

Icarus is pretty damn heavily foreshadowed as a potential love interest though, I'd be surprised if he wasn't.

When Eris shows up at the beginning, at least the first time I played, she imposes a stacking incoming damage penalty on the player which means facing Chronos taking like 3x damage, where a single hit kills you. It made an incredibly frustrating playthrough because I never got to experience a "fair" boss fight without all the metaprogression BS and I'm never going to experience a "fight a boss for the first time and beat them by the skin of my teeth".
