I'll put it another way. You ever played RTS? There's a mass of troopers under your command. They all may look the same, but they're unique to me.
It's not about social recognition, or some abstract mass of people acknowledging you, or ever being remembered, or standing out so much after blasting stimuli at anyone. Why'd that matter?
It's about you acknowledging them, to yourself. You know what each person is, and that's all one needs to know. Cleaning up nicely comes later.
Attraction and seduction mechanics do utilize this sort of measuring, but in the end do you like a person for what it is, or for what and sorely for what is being presented?
