Rion is an awesome character. It's Lessa who's obnoxious as shit. But I loved her relationship with her brother, they were cute and their arc was fun.
Like when they were in Zetta Halo, their relationship was intense after that part. It was a luck that Ram was still with them.

Just give the entire franchise to Kelly Gay already. She's the only person able to understand it and understand Greg Bear's writing style.

They wrote Empty Thrones, a book about ending the chase for ancient alien mcguffins, while writing a book about chasing ancient alien mcguffins.
Rather than just cutting the crap and telling us about Atriox, a subject that was once again, avoided, it spends so much time talking about the entrance to the Domain. Blablabla we gotta find the Lithos, Lithos this Lithos that, and somehow gotta bring back BB because he can destroy Cortana, but whoops, Cortana was off-paneled. We won't tell you what happened to her directly, AGAIN.
Then it's just Whacky Races to destroy the Lithos or some shit. I couldn't finish that horrible book. I just saw the ending and it made me puke.
I hope the motherfucker is happy because he killed so many goddamn trees with his 500 page long toilet paper.

and you know what wa the worst part to me? There was nothing else to tell the reader about the Didact and Chief John Redcorn. But then enter the fat FUCK who wrote Empty Thrones and he said "You know what, I'm going to put these characters in my Scooby Doo story. Because I don't have already a fuckton of characters in this clusterfuck of a story". Huge disservice to the events of Epitaph. But I found it easy to ignore.

the only good part of Empty Thrones to me were the villains. Cuz I enjoyed reading the story from Escharum's point of view.

Just needed a step between Crawler and Soldier. Maybe like a droideka style guy that needs to deploy into a stationary but high lethality target with the light shield but is super vulnerable while moving.
