Shit desu, it was around that time I stopped gaming altogether. Only came back a few years later in the 10s as a PCtard.

The NDS was okayish but I had more fun with the GBA.

I really thought every console would just have motion controls from then on out not realizing it was a dumb fad, Kinect flopping hard was a blessing.

armpit status? anyways speaking of 2000s games

Kojima was on to something with that one character in MGS2 having armpit stubble. he truly is a genius. however i think he made a mistake not expanding on that concept in MGS4. I think that the female soldiers should all have had armpit cutouts where there was an area without fabric to show them off. I also think he should have made a list of 20 or so armpit hair styles and made it so every female soldier spawns with a randomized one. He had access to the technology with PS3s advanced hardware. i also think that he should have made some gear for Snake to use where he could detect the path that those guards had taken that operates on detecting armpit sweat clouds in the air. it would have looked like night vision. the controller would vibrate more frequently the closer you get.

however...

today--We are on the verge of possibilities in gaming that were mere pipe dreams half a decade ago. people dont know it yet but SOON we are going to have AAA games with individual armpit hair strands being fully modeled and ray traced with real time physics based movement. 8k armpit textures. REAL TIME SWEAT PHYSICS where your character sweats more the more she moves around. DLC packs of 20 different pubic hair styles with higher geometry counts than entire xbox 360 character models.

Assuming you mean like 2007-2010, lots of games that looked better than even modern titles but ran like absolute shit thanks to TECHNOLOGY

It was the first time since Pac-Man Fever wasn't just "Kid's Cool" or "Underground Cool", but actually "Mainstream Cool" where it was a very normal thing to hop on Wii Sports or GTA IV

It was the brown & bloom era, the console online shooter golden age, the start of the 2D fighter renaissance, and the beginning of a lot of the "socialization" features like PS Home, Skype Integration, and that XBL thing where you and your friends' avatars could watch movies together
